Dr Katie Muscroft FRCEM - Chair BASICS Dorset & BASICS Responder

Katie is a consultant in Emergency Medicine and a founding member of BASICS Dorset. When not on duty for BASICS she can be found working in A&E departments around the Wessex region. She has been a BASICS responder with SAVES since 2017 and covers the East Dorset region. Outside of the hospital Katie has significant medical experience of Mass Participation Events and is clinical director of a major music and arts festival.

Bruce Hopkins - Treasurer BASICS Dorset

Bruce is a matron at one of Dorset's hospitals and also a founding member of BASICS Dorset. He became a Registered Nurse after leaving the Army. He specialised in Emergency Care before becoming a Nurse Practitioner and then upwards to his current leadership position. He is a keen cyclist, runner and biker. Bruce is also director of a specialist sports event medical company.

Jonathan Bailey - Support Officer BASICS Dorset

Jonathan came to healthcare after a career in the Royal Navy. Starting as ambulance crew he moved on to work as an Emergency Department HCA and lately as a Critical Care Technician at a Major Trauma Centre. As well as volunteering for BASICS Dorset, Jonathan is a scuba instructor with the British Sub-Aqua Club.

Robert Ford - Trustee BASICS Dorset

Rob's long career in the Civil Service culminated in him working as the corporate business planner in the Chief Executive's Private Office of a large Government Agency. After this he become Head of Strategic Planning for a large Fire and Rescue Service and was involved in all aspects of planning, performance, risk and governance. He now a part time musician, local radio presenter and helps to run one of the largest free music festivals in the country. As well as being one of our trustees he is a magistrate and continues to provide consultancy on risk and governance issues.
